Common Reasons for Vietnam eVisa Rejection

VietnamVisa24h has compiled common rejection cases and the proper ways to update your application in accordance with the regulations of the Immigration Department. This helps prevent customers from misunderstanding errors and unnecessarily incurring additional costs for urgent services due to delays in receiving results. The content is copyrighted by VietnamVisa24h and should not be used for commercial purposes.

Vietnamevisa24h has helped many customers successfully fix their eVisa issues by carefully editing and completing all required and optional information. Additionally, it is recommended to update the eVisa application with a new, clear portrait photo and passport image so that the eVisa system recognizes it as a new application. If you have tried all of these methods but are still required to update your information, please contact Vietnamevisa24h for assistance in fixing your eVisa.

Please replace your portrait photo and passport image with new, clear versions. It is possible that your passport photo was unclear (e.g., blurry, reflective glare, or missing information from the ICAO line due to improper cropping), causing the system to mismatch your uploaded information with the details on your passport. If you need assistance to fix your eVisa, please contact Vietnamevisa24h immediately. Since 2017, we have helped hundreds of thousands of customers successfully fix their Vietnam eVisa issues.

The information you need to fill out on the eVisa system includes mandatory fields — marked with a red asterisk (*) — and optional fields — without a red asterisk. Please provide detailed, complete, and accurate information for mandatory and optional sections. Uploading a new, clear portrait photo and passport image is also a useful tip to help increase your eVisa approval rate. If you need assistance to fix your eVisa, please contact Vietnamevisa24h. We are available 24/7 to offer you free consultation and support for all Vietnam eVisa issues

What to expect for the Vietnam visa policy in 2024?

There are proposals for the following changes in the year 2024:

  • Granting short-term visa exemptions for visitors from major markets such as China and India.
  • Extending visa exemptions to travelers from the United States, Canada, Australia, and select European countries.
  • Implementing visa on arrival in Vietnam (no pre-approved visa letter required).
  • Introducing longer-term visas valid for 3-5 years.

There are two options:

1. Apply on the official website of the Immigration Department (https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/trang-chu-ttdt).

2. Apply on our website:

Benefits of applying for an e-visa on My Vietnam Visa website:

  • We have created a simplified form with fewer required fields, making it easier to complete.
  • We have 99% on time rate. Our team of immigration experts thoroughly reviews all information and documentation provided. That will decrease the likelihood of your visa application being rejected.
  • We provide customers with fast and responsive support.

Here are a few updates on visa for Vietnam:

  • For visa exemption: The gap between 2 visa-free entries has been removed, you now can re-enter Vietnam immediately without having to wait for another 30 days.
  • Visa on arrival option is only available to visitors who are traveling on a tour program.
  • E-visa application is now available to all nationalities
  • Citizens from Germany, Italy, France, the UK, Russia, Japan, Korea (South), Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Norway, Finland, Belarus are now exempt from visa requirements for 45 days.
  • 3 month multi-entry (Evisa) is available from 15 August onward.
  • E-visa holders can enter 42 ports of entry instead 33 as of now.
  • More countries to be added to the visa-free country list soon.

Currently, as of May 2023, visa extensions are not available. However, starting from June 2023, visitors will be able to extend their stay in Vietnam when the visa policy is eased.

The standard processing time for a pre-approved visa letter normally takes 2-3 working days, while for an e-visa, it usually takes 3-5 working days. However, urgent visa processing can be completed within 1 working day for both types of visas. In cases where super urgent processing is required, it can be done in as little as 2 hours.

The cost of a visa for Vietnam depends on the type of visa you are applying for. In general, a single-entry 30-day e-visa fee is $25 USD per person if you apply directly on the official immigration website.

Electronic visa (E-visa) is currently the simplest and easiest way to apply for a visa to visit Vietnam. E-visa allows citizens from 80 countries to register and use it at 33 international ports of entry including land, sea, and air borders.

Vietnam is currently granting visa exemptions to 25 countries, including ASEAN countries, the UK, Spain, Germany, France, and some others. If you are not eligible for entry visa exemption, you will need to obtain a valid visa to enter Vietnam.
